Mesta Tempranillo from Castile in Spain is a vibrant unoaked red wine with expressive aromas of red berries, rosemary and just a touch of liquorice. Medium bodied, yet still very fresh with a satisfyingly dry finish, this versatile wine with pair excellently with food. Especially tapas and pasta dishes.

Mesta wines are named after 'The Mesta' - a powerful alliance of shepherds in medieval Castile, who controlled the traditional rights-of-way for migrating sheep. Their vineyards are nestled deep in the land of The Mesta, and are still passed over by flocks on their annual migration.
